Most of us are amateur photographers, wielding our cell phones to record moments that we want to remember and save to our online galleries or post on social media. But when we want a photo that’s worth framing and hanging on a wall or saving as part of a family legacy, we need a professional who understands the art of capturing personality and memories on film.
Regina Lograsso has been behind the camera since 2014, first working from her home studio in Daleville and now in her own 1200-square-foot office space in downtown Buchanan. Regina grew up in Roanoke and then spent 23 years traveling the U.S. and Japan with her military husband. They now have three children, three grandchildren, and three dogs. When she is not photographing, Regina enjoys CrossFit, shopping for antiques, collecting coffee cups, and spending time with her great dane and two french bulldogs.
Regina loves finding beauty in simple things. She describes her photography as something beyond art, a memory to cherish, a feeling, a captured moment in time. Her style is simple, clean, and timeless.
The studio is fronted by a large window that lets in beautiful natural light. This is where Regina displays more than 500 props, including buckets, baskets, wagons, dresses, backdrops, bonnets, and more. These allow her to fully customize each session. She has a constant turnover of props each week to ensure a fresh and unique look for each client.
Regina Lograsso Photography specializes in maternity, newborn, family, and child photos, along with high school senior portraits. Maternity sessions include access to the client closet of maternity gowns. Mommy and Me sessions are complete with professional hair and make-up, along with the client’s choice of dresses, which are available in all sizes.
The studio is the primary setting for newborns and child milestone sessions. Heirloom sessions yield black and white classic vignette portraits. Regina offers a unique approach to these portraits and a consistently fresh and clean editing style to ensure that these will stand the test of time. The best ages for children’s heirloom photos are between nine months and ten years of age. The session is fairly quick, taking only about ten minutes to photograph in order to accommodate the child’s needs.
