JR Drips Owners Keith & June Morris

Life-long Buchanan area resident June Morris’ (formerly June Moore) dream has always been to own her own shop…and it has come true! JR Drips (JR short for James River) is now open, located next to the Stop-In in the old J Jordan’s Barber Shop building, near the river.

June said she thought of the naming “Drip” for specializing in coffee, and ice cream, that drip, while her husband Keith added “James River” so people would easily find them when Googling thinks to do near the river.

“We are focusing on people kayaking on the James River and everyone traveling through historic Buchanan,” Morris says. She describes her business as a Coffee Café Shop where you can “grab and go.”

“It means so much to me to see small businesses grow right here in Buchanan,” June says. “And as one of the winners and beneficiaries of the Gauntlet competition, I’m grateful for the help and support the town of Buchanan gave us to make this business possible.”

She is also thankful for all of the hard work and long hours her husband Keith and son Chad Huffman have put into the construction of her café shop.

JR Drip is a family-owned and managed business. June’s daughter Rebecca Huffman and June’s niece Jennifer Clark will be helping out. They have also hired several employees, bringing jobs to Buchanan.
